Anchor Summer Camp seeks to provide
twelve days of holiday experiences for individuals of all ages with special
needs in the Reformed Christian community. It also creates a time of relief
for parents and representatives. Through dedicated volunteers, Anchor
Summer Camp promotes a safe environment, supporting the individual physical,
emotional and spiritual needs of the participants. Camp further provides an
opportunity to interact and develop friendships among participants and
volunteers. Individuals may come for one or
two weeks. Camp has been held for many years in the Drumbo area, near
Woodstock, Ontario. There the participants enjoy fun and fellowship, with
camp fires, good food and regular outings. On Sundays, one of the Canadian
Reformed Churches invites the entire group for worship, followed by a
supper. During the second week there is the traditional Open House, an
evening filled with memories, laughter and singing. In the Fall the participants meet
one more time at a reunion. Here they share photos and memories followed by
a BBQ. Some 30 participants are able to attend camp. Some have been going
for many years; others can be admitted space permitting. Please direct your questions and comments to the Summer Camp Committee. Camp Director: Helen Dorgeloos 905-701-4577 |
